1) Please introduce yourself and tell us how you got acquainted with WARC.
Hey there. I am Farzin Amonov, a sophomore student majoring in Applied Mathematics and Informatics (AMI) at the ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ (ÐÓ°É´«Ã½). Originally, I am from the vibrant and mountainous Ayni district in beautiful Tajikistan, where my roots are deeply connected in the small town of Urmetan, yet a lovely and hospitable place for everyone. From early childhood, I have been personally involved in all kinds of sports, including football, volleyball, table tennis, and wrestling, which fostered my love for teamwork and discipline. In addition, when I am not in the field, I spend my time reading books, exploring new movies, and hitting the gym. Altogether, I am passionate about mixing my academic interests with my diverse hobbies, and I am very excited about the path that I am going to take ahead.Ìý

2) Why did you decide to become a tutor at WARC?
During my school years, I acted as a tutor for my peers without even realizing it. My first tutoring journey began when I was selected as the Extracurricular Activities Coordinator at Ilmomuz, an education center in my hometown. In that position, I organized unique projects that gave local teenagers practical knowledge and learning experiences. Later, when I enrolled at ÐÓ°É´«Ã½, I discovered the Writing and Academic Resource Center (WARC) during Orientation Week. I frequently visited WARC for academic support, especially for math and writing help as I prepared for exams. My experiences there provided a strong interest in becoming a tutor myself. During that time, I realized how valuable academic support can be, and it inspired me to help others in the same way. That is why I have decided to apply for this position. Overall, I feel ready to share the knowledge I have gained and assist others in achieving their academic goals.

After sending everything in, I prepared for the interview. The interview itself was a pleasant experience since it was friendly and encouraging. Overall, even though there were some challenges, the process was positive and confirmed my excitement about the role.

First of all, my expectations for working at WARC are quite high. Apart from improving my tutoring skills, I aim to engage with the extraordinary WARC community, interacting with like-minded individuals and experts. The WARC community has truly impressed me by giving me remarkable future opportunities and shaping my future career. I am motivated to engage myself in the supportive environment of the center, where I interact with students in various fields, which is essential for future success. Moreover, I hope to make a meaningful impact on enhancing the tutoring services of WARC throughout ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ by helping students build their confidence, improve their problem-solving skills, and achieve their academic goals. Seeing students succeed and knowing that I played a part in their journey will be incredibly fulfilling, thanks to WARC. Additionally, I desire to build a solid professional network and improve endless relationships with colleagues and students, like a family. Overall, involving different activities and team-buildings will further develop my teaching skills and enlarge my educational perspective.
