From January 13 to 17, 2025, the Ӱɴý Library organized a series of webinars as part of the event “Scholarly Communication Week: Research Publications in the Digital Age.” The event aimed to strengthen the capacity of Kyrgyzstan's universities in academic publishing and promote research activities.
The program included eight online sessions on topics such as current issues in academic publishing, strategies for promoting research in the digital space, practical recommendations for writing and formatting research articles, and AI tools for researchers. More than 550 faculty, researchers, scientists, and postgraduate students participated in the training sessions, where they explored the latest trends in scholarly communication and had the opportunity to ask questions. Participants shared recommendations for strengthening collaboration between university libraries and research offices to enhance the publication output of Kyrgyz universities.
The sessions were delivered by Jevgenija Sevcova, program coordinator of the EIFL Consortium; Alexander Rytau, EBSCO Regional Manager; Elena Bazanova, Associate Professor of Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology; and Aidai Akylova and Dinara Bayakunova from Kyrgyzpatent. The team of trainers from Ӱɴý included Elena Molchanova, Chair of the Psychology Department; Ekaterina Kombarova and Angelina Popova from the Center for Teaching, Learning and Technology (CTLT); and Jyldyz Bekbalaeva, Director of Library. The partners in organizing this major event were Osh State University, I. Arabaev Kyrgyz State University, and K. Karasaev Bishkek State University.
