The purpose of this committee is to support student-initiated projects, professional development opportunities, and student research. The committee administers the Student Research Fund to encourage and promote student research. It evaluates applications for funding and award grants to support students鈥� field or archival research. This committee administers the Student Travel Fund to support students鈥� participation in international conferences, workshops, cultural exchange programs, and research-related activities. The committee members make a decision about the Best Thesis Award for which it uses thoroughly developed criteria and procedures.听SILC shall have six (6) faculty members and two (2) representatives from the Student Senate.
